A used electric car for sale offers a great way to take advantage of the environmental benefits and lower maintenance costs of an EV. They also have a more relaxed driving experience without the noise of shifting gears and engine idling. However, it’s important to assess your local charging infrastructure before deciding whether an EV makes sense for you.

Until recently, it was rare to see an electric vehicle on a used car lot, especially if you weren’t looking for a luxury sedan or three-row sport utility vehicle. However as new EV models continue to enter the market, the selection of used electric cars has grown significantly. While there are still some lingering doubts about the reliability of used EVs, these fears seem to be fading as more people drive them. And with a battery that doesn’t degrade as fast as hybrid or cellular phone batteries, an EV can still easily reach its original EPA-estimated range.

As a result, despite some drops in inventory (most notably at Tesla dealerships), most EV models in the used market have held steady or even increased. While many are anticipating the arrival of new EVs in the $20-$25K range, a growing number of buyers will likely turn to the used market to get started with a reliable and comfortable EV.
